Understanding
America through its national pastime
Baseball
doesn’t translate well for Europeans. Its rules are
difficult to understand and it never looks like anything is
happening! But like when you learn a language it’s
often the things you can’t translate which teach you the
most. And learning a little bit about this sport can
tell you a lot about the history, character and language of
the USA.
